One Year Ago Today...

It was one year ago this day that the Brewers began their three month long tank job. Entering play on this day with a 45-33 record, the Brewers held a 6.5 game lead over the 38-39 Cubs. All seemed well in Brew Town. How naive we all were.

Most Brewer fans will point to this Cubs series as the point where it all went down hill. The Brewers would finish the season 35-47, while the Cubs caught fire and never looked back. It all started with Francisco Cordero's implosion and Aramis Ramirez's walk off homer.

Fast forward to today. The Brewers are 44-36, 4.5 games back of the Cubs. The Cubs have started to shows signs of being human recently, while the Crew have caught fire. A total reversal of how things were a year ago. We'll see if Ned can avoid a second half swoon for the first time in his career this time.

Oh and by the way, take a look at the Brewers notes section and read the title of the Turnbow piece...funny how things can turn around that dramatically in a year.

Thank you for subjecting me to a form of cruel and unusual punishment by posting that photo. I hope you have a miserable day.
