Ok, not so much. But that's the best move from within that this team can make at the current time. I don't want to slip into that "last week we could do no wrong, now I'm hammering the panic button" mode, but the flaws that were hidden during the Cardinals series because of opportunistic dongs are being exposed on all levels by the Cubs.
1. Error prone infield that kicks around or doesn't catch enough balls (if your last name is "Hardy" don't pay attention to this one)
2. Too many strikeouts and free swingers
3. Inability to ever plate one run and take a lead early while putting pressure on a defense by moving a runner over
4. Comically horrible at swinging a bat at a baseball and making a connection with runners in scoring position
Dick Weeks is not an asset as a pinch hitter. Ray Durham should be the everyday second baseman, but Weeks is of no use to this team at the moment and probably never will. Tony Gwynn, Jr. continues to be the leadoff/2 hole hitter this team needs. I don't care that the farthest he's hit a baseball is to the warning track once, if he's working counts and slapping hits through the infield, then the Crew will actually have speed and people in general on the basepaths for the sluggers. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but they have to be in the running for most solo home runs in a season. Ned Yost thinks this is the best way to win games: solo homers. But he continues to trot Mike Cameron out to strikeout twice looking and once swinging so he can hit a home run in a stadium not named Minute Maid Park once every 10 games.
I hope this isn't the case, but it appears that Yost has awakened from the sleep walking mode he was in in St. Louis and has remembered that it's late July, so his watch is beeping, reminding him to start having his team tank it because it's after the All-Star Break.

You son of a bitch. I just jumped from my chair, did a fist pump and screamed YES!
The Dark Knight (Mike Cameron) sucks. His defense has been good, but not as great as it was billed to be and he is just god awful at the plate. Yes he has 15 homers, but that's all he's done. He either hits a home run or strikes out. I'm sick of it. Furthermore, why even keep Weeks on the bench? Do we really want to use him as a pinch hitter ever? I know I don't. His only value on the bench is a pinch runner. Send him down to Nashville.
This teams biggest problem is they have three guys in the lineup (when Weeks plays) hitting below .230. Stop trying to say you'll take the bad with the good, and any other analogy out there. It is killing our production.
