(Carsten) Charles In Charge

Ah, three consecutive complete games? Are you kidding me? I think CC may like life as a pitcher in the NL a bit more than the AL.

So, after 4 starts he's 4-0 with three freaking complete games and an era of 1.00. BING! Seriously though, if he keeps this up and goes something like 10-1 with a low era, it's not out of the realm of possibilities to suggest he could be in the NL Cy Young hunt. There is no front runner, Lincecum and Volquez have both been suspect as of late, allowing Sheets and Brandon Webb to enter the discussion. If he puts up 10 wins, keeps a low era and tosses five or six complete games, he's not only the Cy Young, but since that performance would unquestionably propel us into the playoffs, he's the MVP!

I've heard national pundits (aka bums who are paid to talk loud and don't know much about sports) suggest what the Brewers are doing with him is wrong and they're overworking him. Dude threw 106 pitches last night, how is that overuse? In all of his complete games his pitch counts have been low. The guy is just a horse and is extremely efficient.

As Todd touched on earlier, the best part of all of this is the relief it gives our bullpen. If CC is goign to go the distance more often than not, thats less we have to use Gagne, Mota, Riske, Shouse, etc. I'd still like to see an arm added, but knowing how much teams are asking for, I can't complain with Melvin's position to stand pat. We don't want to give up too much this year, and plus are there any real difference makers out there that you know would provide an upgrade enough to justify parting with another AA prospect? Didn't think so.

Oh and by the way, Dr. Ned strikes again. Wow. Ever since this man became a doctor, he's become a genius. Dr. Ned knew if he got tossed his team would tack on two more runs and CC would use that as motivation to go the distance. Wow, what a genius. I want Dr. Ned performing any major sugery I have for the rest of my life, he's that good. Dr. Ned is just like Michael J. Fox in Teen Wolf. When Fox was the Wolf, he was unstoppable, but when he was just plain old Scott, not so good. As Dr. Ned, Yost has yet to lose, as plain old Ned, we wanted him gone.

Here's to Benny giving us the sweep today and quite possibly ripping the heart out of the Cardinals.

BING!
