I'm watching Corey Hart about to join his teammate, Ryan Braun, in going 0-3 today at Yankee Stadium and thought I'd share what I've long believed how the All-Star Game should be played: The "starters" aka, those who are the best hitters, should be put in during the fifth inning and play out the remainder of the game. I don't want to dis the likes of Dioner Navarro, Nate McClouth, Ryan Ludwick, Christian Guzman or Carlos Guillen, but they aren't exactly the big ticket names the patrons paid to see.
Ever since the now infamous 2002 tie (or the last game the NL didn't lose in the last millennium) All-Star Games run the risk of becoming stale and we're certainly viewing that once again right now. I don't even know why I'm watching at this point except that I've watched the whole thing so I'll be damned if I give up on it now. But sleep well tonight Milwaukeeans, if it weren't for our precious tie game, the final All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium would have certainly have been called a draw by now. But do you think Terry Francona is going to lie down, play dead and give up his chance to have the WS go through Fenway? I'll answer that one for you: no.
I'm wondering how many NL managers are adjusting their game plan when they play the Marlins to instruct their batters to hit as many balls as possible slightly to the left or right of Dan Uggla. This guy is atrocious in the field.

The infamous time game in Milwaukee was in 2002.
The logic behind the game is so flawed, if you're going to say it counts for something, fans shouldn't be choosing any members. If this is for home field, let managers choose the whole team, and moreover, stop making sure even team is included. It doesn't make any sense, you're telling us this should be important and mean something, yet lets make sure everyone is included, even the best players from bad teams? Doesn't make sense.
The last ball he booted wasn't Uggla's fault, but god did he look awful. Maybe it's just my interpretation of "All-Star", but how did Dan Uggla make this team? He looks terrible in the field and he swings for the fences each time he's at the plate. How is that an All-Star?
'02, you be correct on that...is it frowned upon to switch the text on the main post?
nope
No mention of Corey Hart's noodle arm 2 hopper to the plate allowing the winning run? That was kinda embarrassing too.
