Sheeter

I'll start off by establishing the fact that I am a Sheets-apologist... I don't remember another player in Brewers' history who has created a polar opposite of fan reaction. I don't see any middle ground. Either fans love him, or they look at him as a waste of talent who is always hurt. Reality, is probably in the middle. His character (i.e. gonads) were put to the test this past week. He never should have taken the mound on Saturday, yet he gutted and tried to pitch through the pain, well before he was ready. Thankfully, it didn't cost the Crew the wild card. I believe fan influence helped determine this poor decision, and that can't happen when coming from mainstream fans.

We'll see how much $$$ that costs Sheets in Free Agency. I don't expect to see him pitch for the Crew again, but I have to say.. thanks for the memories. He will go down as a very underated aspect of the rise of the Brewers... never receiving the credit he deserves, because they do not sniff the wild card this year without him
