Thanks for the memories Brewers!

It was a fun ride this season. CC captured our hearts like a, well, like a reigning Cy Young pitcher that hasn't lost and almost single handedly kept this team from pissing away the Wild Card even earlier.

The first time I thought this team was done was after Boston crapped on us in May. But then the Crew proved me wrong, Russell Branyan carried us through June. The next time everyone thought this team was done was after the Cubs came to Miller Park and swept us in a series that is still proving to be the deciding difference in the divisional standings. I cautioned fellow downtrodden Brewers fans not to jump, the team couldn't play any worse than we just witnessed and we were still the WC leader. Fool me once, shame on you, but now, fool me twice, shame on me.

What am I supposed to hang my hat on right now? That we're still 3 games up on the Phillies and White H-O-T-T hot Astros? Sure, keep believing that. At least Ned Yost has told us that these guys went through the pressure cooker of a pennant chase last season and that will help them now. Uh, really? Because the millisecond this team relinquishes the lead in September, it pretty much means another loss. And have you seen the Phils remaining schedule?

So thanks for probably saving me oodles of money this October Ned! Maybe I'll go buy a new cell phone or suit with the money the Brewers will reimburse me for the season ticket holder playoff tickets I bought. Until this team can string together three straight wins: It's Packers season in the Brew Town!
